Billions Poured into Western Sydney: What it Means for Birling’s Bright Future

Tue Jun 24

The 2025 NSW State Budget has delivered a major boost to Western Sydney, committing more than $4 billion in infrastructure that will drive housing, healthcare, education, transport, and job growth—laying the foundations for communities like Birling to thrive.

As we prepare to welcome our first residents, this wave of investment couldn’t be better timed. Located at the heart of South West Sydney’s transformation, Birling is set to benefit from the state’s commitment to creating connected, future-ready communities.

Here are some of the key highlights:

Connecting Communities

The NSW Government is investing:

  • $500 million into the Fifteenth Avenue Transit Corridor, which will connect Liverpool to the Western Sydney International (WSI) Airport—bringing faster, more efficient access to jobs and opportunities for future Birling residents.

  • $150 million to upgrade the Aerotropolis Road Network, creating stronger connections between growth areas and the airport.

  • $27 million to explore a South West Sydney Rail link from Bradfield to Campbelltown via Leppington—laying the groundwork for even greater rail access in the future.

Health and Wellbeing Prioritised

Families in our region can look forward to significantly enhanced healthcare services, including:

  • $700 million for the Bankstown Hospital redevelopment, which will integrate health, education, and transport.

  • A new birthing unit at Rouse Hill Hospital and Australia’s first kids complex care centre at Westmead Hospital.

  • Mental health support initiatives across Blacktown, Campbelltown and Penrith, which align with our community vision of supporting all ages and needs.

Enabling Housing and Jobs

With over $835 million allocated for infrastructure around the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, including water and road networks, this funding unlocks thousands of jobs and housing opportunities across the region—bringing momentum and long-term economic vitality to Birling’s doorstep.

Notably:

  • $600+ million is going towards unlocking industrial land—helping to drive 120,000 jobs and supporting local employment options for future residents.

  • $486 million will expand water and recycled water infrastructure to support housing in nearby Wilton and Picton, part of the same booming south-west corridor.

Education, Schools & Skills for the Future

With four new public schools and five upgrades announced, plus a $100 million relocation of TAFE NSW to Western Sydney University Bankstown, the government is investing in the next generation. These facilities support the needs of young families who call Birling and its surrounds home.

At Birling, we’ve always said we’re at the start of something bright. Now, the state’s most significant budget investment in years is making that future even brighter.

With world-class infrastructure, local job creation, education opportunities, and healthcare support all on the rise, there’s never been a better time to secure your place in a connected, growing community like Birling.
